Chapter 1

1Sha'ul, an shaliach—not from men, nor through man, but through Yeshua Mashiach, and Elohim the Father, who raised him from the dead— 2and all the brothers who are with me, to the assemblies of Galatia: 3Grace to you and peace from Elohim the Father and our Adonai Yeshua Mashiach, 4who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil age, according to the will of our Elohim and Father— 5to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. 6I marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Mashiach to a different “good news”, 7but there isn’t another “good news.” Only there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the Besorah of Mashiach. 8But even though we, or an malak from heaven, should preach to you any “good news” other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed. 9As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any “good news” other than that which you received, let him be cursed. 10For am I now seeking the favour of men, or of Elohim? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Mashiach. 11But I make known to you, brothers, concerning the Besorah which was preached by me, that it is not according to man. 12For I didn’t receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Yeshua Mashiach. 13For you have heard of my way of living in time past in the Yehudim’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the assembly of Elohim and ravaged it. 14I advanced in the Yehudim’ religion beyond many of my own age amongst my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers. 15But when it was the good pleasure of Elohim, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through his grace, 16to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him amongst the Goyim, I didn’t immediately confer with flesh and blood, 17nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were shlichim before me, but I went away into Arabia. Then I returned to Dameshek. 18Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Kefa, and stayed with him fifteen days. 19But of the other shlichim I saw no one except Yaakov, Adonai’s brother. 20Now about the things which I write to you, behold, before Elohim, I’m not lying. 21Then I came to the regions of Aram and Cilicia. 22I was still unknown by face to the assemblies of Yehudah which were in Mashiach, 23but they only heard, “He who once persecuted us now preaches the faith that he once tried to destroy.” 24So they glorified Elohim in me.

Chapter 2

1Then after a period of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Bar-Naba, taking Titus also with me. 2I went up by revelation, and I laid before them the Besorah which I preach amongst the Goyim, but privately before those who were respected, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain. 3But not even Titus, who was with me, being a Yevani, was compelled to be circumcised. 4This was because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who stole in to spy out our liberty which we have in Mashiach Yeshua, that they might bring us into bondage, 5to whom we gave no place in the way of subjection, not for an hour, that the truth of the Besorah might continue with you. 6But from those who were reputed to be important—whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; Elohim doesn’t show partiality to man—they, I say, who were respected imparted nothing to me, 7but to the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the Besorah for the uncircumcised, even as Kefa with the Besorah for the circumcised— 8for he who worked through Kefa in the apostleship with the circumcised also worked through me with the Goyim— 9and when they perceived the grace that was given to me, Yaakov and Kefa and Yochanan, those who were reputed to be pillars, gave to Bar-Naba and me the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Goyim, and they to the circumcision. 10They only asked us to remember the poor—which very thing I was also zealous to do. 11But when Kefa came to Antioch, I resisted him to his face, because he stood condemned. 12For before some people came from Yaakov, he ate with the Goyim. But when they came, he drew back and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. 13And the rest of the Yehudim joined him in his hypocrisy, so that even Bar-Naba was carried away with their hypocrisy. 14But when I saw that they didn’t walk uprightly according to the truth of the Besorah, I said to Kefa before them all, “If you, being a Yehudi, live as the Goyim do, and not as the Yehudim do, why do you compel the Goyim to live as the Yehudim do? 15“We, being Yehudim by nature and not Goy sinners, 16yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Yeshua Mashiach, even we believed in Mashiach Yeshua, that we might be justified by faith in Mashiach and not by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law. 17But if while we sought to be justified in Mashiach, we ourselves also were found sinners, is Mashiach a servant of sin? Certainly not! 18For if I build up again those things which I destroyed, I prove myself a law-breaker. 19For I through the law died to the law, that I might live to Elohim. 20I have been crucified with Mashiach, and it is no longer I who live, but Mashiach lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Ben Elohim, who loved me and gave himself up for me. 21I don’t reject the grace of Elohim. For if righteousness is through the law, then Mashiach died for nothing!”

Chapter 3

1Foolish Galatim, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Yeshua Mashiach was openly portrayed amongst you as crucified? 2I just want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Ruach by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith? 3Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Ruach, are you now completed in the flesh? 4Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain? 5He therefore who supplies the Ruach to you and does miracles amongst you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith? 6Even so, Avraham “believed Elohim, and it was counted to him for righteousness.” 7Know therefore that those who are of faith are children of Avraham. 8The Scripture, foreseeing that Elohim would justify the Goyim by faith, preached the Besorah beforehand to Avraham, saying, “In you all the nations will be blessed.” 9So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Avraham. 10For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who doesn’t continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.” 11Now that no man is justified by the law before Elohim is evident, for, “The righteous will live by faith.” 12The law is not of faith, but, “The man who does them will live by them.” 13Mashiach redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,” 14that the blessing of Avraham might come on the Goyim through Mashiach Yeshua, that we might receive the promise of the Ruach through faith. 15Brothers, speaking of human terms, though it is only a man’s Brit, yet when it has been confirmed, no one makes it void or adds to it. 16Now the promises were spoken to Avraham and to his offspring. He doesn’t say, “To descendants”, as of many, but as of one, “To your offspring”, which is Mashiach. 17Now I say this: A Brit confirmed beforehand by Elohim in Mashiach, the law, which came four hundred and thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect. 18For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but Elohim has granted it to Avraham by promise. 19Then why is there the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through malakim by the hand of a mediator. 20Now a mediator is not between one, but Elohim is one. 21Is the law then against the promises of Elohim? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law. 22But the Scripture imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Yeshua Mashiach might be given to those who believe. 23But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Mashiach, that we might be justified by faith. 25But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26For you are all children of Elohim, through faith in Mashiach Yeshua. 27For as many of you as were immersed into Mashiach have put on Mashiach. 28There is neither Yehudi nor Yevani, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Mashiach Yeshua. 29If you are Mashiach’s, then you are Avraham’s offspring and heirs according to promise.

Chapter 4

1But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a bondservant, though he is Adonai of all, 2but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed by the father. 3So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental principles of the world. 4But when the fullness of the time came, Elohim sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law, 5that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as children. 6And because you are children, Elohim sent out the Ruach of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” 7So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of Elohim through Mashiach. 8However at that time, not knowing Elohim, you were in bondage to those who by nature are not gods. 9But now that you have come to know Elohim, or rather to be known by Elohim, why do you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental principles, to which you desire to be in bondage all over again? 10You observe days, months, seasons, and years. 11I am afraid for you, that I might have wasted my labour for you. 12I beg you, brothers, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You did me no wrong, 13but you know that because of weakness in the flesh I preached the Besorah to you the first time. 14That which was a temptation to you in my flesh, you didn’t despise nor reject; but you received me as an malak of Elohim, even as Mashiach Yeshua. 15What was the blessing you enjoyed? For I testify to you that, if possible, you would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me. 16So then, have I become your enemy by telling you the truth? 17They zealously seek you in no good way. No, they desire to alienate you, that you may seek them. 18But it is always good to be zealous in a good cause, and not only when I am present with you. 19My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Mashiach is formed in you— 20but I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone, for I am perplexed about you. 21Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don’t you listen to the law? 22For it is written that Avraham had two sons, one by the servant, and one by the free woman. 23However, the son by the servant was born according to the flesh, but the son by the free woman was born through promise. 24These things contain an allegory, for these are two covenants. One is from Har Sinai, bearing children to bondage, which is Hagar. 25For this Hagar is Har Sinai in Arabia, and answers to the Jerusalem that exists now, for she is in bondage with her children. 26But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all. 27For it is written, “Rejoice, you barren who don’t bear. Break out and shout, you who don’t travail. For the desolate women have more children than her who has a husband.” 28Now we, brothers, as Yitzhak was, are children of promise. 29But as then, he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Ruach, so also it is now. 30However, what does the Scripture say? “Throw out the servant and her son, for the son of the servant will not inherit with the son of the free woman.” 31So then, brothers, we are not children of a servant, but of the free woman.

Chapter 5

1Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Mashiach has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2Behold, I, Sha'ul, tell you that if you receive circumcision, Mashiach will profit you nothing. 3Yes, I testify again to every man who receives circumcision that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4You are alienated from Mashiach, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace. 5For we through the Ruach, by faith wait for the hope of righteousness. 6For in Mashiach Yeshua neither circumcision nor uncircumcision amounts to anything, but faith working through love. 7You were running well! Who interfered with you that you should not obey the truth? 8This persuasion is not from him who calls you. 9A little yeast grows through the whole lump. 10I have confidence towards you in Adonai that you will think no other way. But he who troubles you will bear his judgement, whoever he is. 11But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been removed. 12I wish that those who disturb you would cut themselves off. 13For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants to one another. 14For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” 15But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you don’t consume one another. 16But I say, walk by the Ruach, and you won’t fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17For the flesh lusts against the Ruach, and the Ruach against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. 18But if you are led by the Ruach, you are not under the law. 19Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, 20idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 21envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practise such things will not inherit Elohim’s Kingdom. 22But the fruit of the Ruach is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, 23gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Mashiach have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. 25If we live by the Ruach, let’s also walk by the Ruach. 26Let’s not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.

Chapter 6

1Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted. 2Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Mashiach. 3For if a man thinks himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4But let each man examine his own work, and then he will have reason to boast in himself, and not in someone else. 5For each man will bear his own burden. 6But let him who is taught in the word share all good things with him who teaches. 7Don’t be deceived. Elohim is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Ruach will from the Ruach reap eternal life. 9Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up. 10So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good towards all men, and especially towards those who are of the household of the faith. 11See with what large letters I write to you with my own hand. 12As many as desire to make a good impression in the flesh compel you to be circumcised, just so they may not be persecuted for the cross of Mashiach. 13For even they who receive circumcision don’t keep the law themselves, but they desire to have you circumcised, so that they may boast in your flesh. 14But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Adonai Yeshua Mashiach, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15For in Mashiach Yeshua neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. 16As many as walk by this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on Elohim’s Yisrael. 17From now on, let no one cause me any trouble, for I bear the marks of Adonai Yeshua branded on my body. 18The grace of our Adonai Yeshua Mashiach be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
