Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the KodeshWay mobile application and the kodeshway.com website (collectively, "the Service"), operated by KodeshWay LLC, a Texas limited liability company. By using KodeshWay, you agree to these terms.

The service

KodeshWay is a Scripture reading and study application for iPhone, Apple Watch, Android and Wear OS. It provides access to the KWS (KodeshWay Scriptures, Yeshua-centred edition), the Trinity's narrated lessons, the Guided Paths, audio narration, push notifications and Lumen, the study companion. The free tier of KodeshWay includes Lumen AI access and will remain free. The paid tiers, Pilgrim and Scribe, provide expanded Lumen access, as described on the Subscribe page in the app.

Your account

Reading the Scriptures needs no account. Lumen, a subscription and the reminders the server sends do: KodeshWay uses Sign in with Apple on iPhone and Sign in with Google on Android. You are responsible for maintaining the security of that account. KodeshWay LLC is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

Subscriptions and billing

Pilgrim (monthly or yearly) and Scribe (monthly) are auto-renewing subscriptions managed entirely through the store you bought them from — Apple's App Store on iPhone, Google Play on Android. Billing, renewals, refunds, and cancellations are handled by that store and subject to its terms and conditions. To cancel, manage the subscription through your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or through Google Play → Subscriptions on Android.

A subscription bought on one platform stays on that platform. One bought on iPhone does not carry across to Android, nor one bought on Android to iPhone; each store keeps its own account and its own subscription.

Expanded Lumen access is provided through subscription tiers managed by the store. Renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled through that store in accordance with its billing period for your plan.

KodeshWay LLC reserves the right to adjust subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period and will be communicated in advance.

Acceptable use

You agree to use KodeshWay only for its intended purpose — personal Scripture study and reflection. You agree not to: attempt to circumvent subscription entitlements or access controls; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app; use automated tools against the service in a way that burdens it (the KWS downloads and the embeds are there to be built on freely); or use the service in any way that violates applicable law.

Scripture content

The Scriptures in KodeshWay are the KodeshWay Scriptures (KWS), derived from the public-domain World English Bible and dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0: copy them, print them and share them freely. The reader's guide in the app gives the edition's full credit. Everything else in KodeshWay — the paintings, animated scenes and narration, the lessons, paths and plans, and all other original writing — is the intellectual property of KodeshWay LLC and may not be reproduced without permission.

AI-generated content

Lumen's replies are written by AI models: Anthropic's for Pilgrim and Scribe, and a third-party AI inference provider's for the Free tier and Lumen Lite. They are not theological authority and must not be treated as such. AI responses can contain errors. Test what you read against Scripture itself — the Torah, the Prophets, the Writings and the Brit Chadashah — and trust the Ruach HaKodesh, the Counsellor whom the Father sends in Yeshua's name, to teach you all things (Yochanan 14:26).

Disclaimer of warranties

KodeshWay is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. KodeshWay LLC does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, nor the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KodeshWay LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use KodeshWay. The total liability of KodeshWay LLC to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Termination

You may stop using KodeshWay at any time. KodeshWay LLC reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the service for violations of these terms, with or without notice. Termination does not entitle you to a refund — refund requests must be directed to the store the subscription was bought from.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of this page will be updated when that happens. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with them.

International users

KodeshWay is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States. European and California users have the rights set out in the Privacy Policy, which says how to use them.

Account deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion removes at once the records the service's servers hold about you; the daily backups, kept seven days, hold a copy until they age out. Deleting the account in the app also erases your reading data — your highlights, notes, bookmarks, reflections and plans — from the phone and, on iPhone, from your iCloud. Without deleting the account, that data can be managed through your iCloud settings or by clearing the app's data.
