Chapter 2

Three Days in Darkness, Then Raised

Jonah three days in the fish is Yeshua's own declared type — the Ben Adam in the earth's heart three days, then rising as Jonah rose, victorious from the deep.

  1. Jonah's Prayer From the Deep

From inside the fish, Jonah prays. No place is too deep, too dark, or too desperate for Elohim to hear you.

  2. 1Then Jonah prayed to YHWH, his Elohim, out of the fish’s belly.
  3. 2He said, “I called because of my affliction to YHWH. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice.
  4. 3For you threw me into the depths, in the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me.
  5. 4I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again towards your kodesh temple.’
  6. 5The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head.
  7. 6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever; yet you have brought my life up from the pit, YHWH my Elohim.
  8. 7When my soul fainted within me, I remembered YHWH. My prayer came in to you, into your kodesh temple.
  9. 8Those who regard vain idols forsake their own chesed.
  10. Salvation Belongs to Adonai

Salvation belongs to Adonai. Jonah finally surrenders — and the fish delivers him to dry land.

  11. 9But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to YHWH.”
  12. 10Then YHWH spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land.
