Chapter 31

Craftsmen Filled With the Ruach Elohim

Bezalel filled with the Ruach to craft the Mishkan foreshadows the Ruach HaKodesh filling Yeshua's followers to build the living temple — His own Body.

  1. Bezalel and Oholiab — Gifted by the Ruach

Elohim fills craftsmen with His Ruach for artistic work. The Ruach HaKodesh empowers not just prophets and priests, but artists and builders — every skill is sacred.

  2. 1YHWH spoke to Moses, saying,
  3. 2“Behold, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.
  4. 3I have filled him with the Ruach Elohim, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all kinds of workmanship,
  5. 4to devise skilful works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in bronze,
  6. 5and in cutting of stones for setting, and in carving of wood, to work in all kinds of workmanship.
  7. 6Behold, I myself have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the heart of all who are wise-hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded you:
  8. 7the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the covenant, the mercy seat that is on it, all the furniture of the Tent,
  9. 8the table and its vessels, the pure lamp stand with all its vessels, the altar of incense,
  10. 9the altar of burnt offering with all its vessels, the basin and its base,
  11. 10the finely worked garments—the kodesh garments for Aaron the priest, the garments of his sons to minister in the priest’s office—
  12. 11the anointing oil, and the incense of sweet spices for the kodesh place: according to all that I have commanded you they shall do.”
  13. The Shabbat — Sign of the Covenant

Even while building Elohim's house, Shabbat must be kept. Rest isn't laziness — it's a sign that your trust is in Elohim, not in your own labour.

  14. 12YHWH spoke to Moses, saying,
  15. 13“Speak also to the children of Israel, saying, ‘Most certainly you shall keep my Shabbats; for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am YHWH who sanctifies you.
  16. 14You shall keep the Shabbat therefore, for it is kodesh to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from amongst his people.
  17. 15Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Shabbat of solemn rest, kodesh to YHWH. Whoever does any work on the Shabbat day shall surely be put to death.
  18. 16Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Shabbat, to observe the Shabbat throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
  19. 17It is a sign between me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days YHWH made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.’”
  20. 18When he finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, he gave Moses the two tablets of the covenant, stone tablets, written with Elohim’s finger.
