Chapter 2

He Will Be the Wall of Fire Around

Elohim promising to be a wall of fire and the glory within Jerusalem foreshadow Yeshua as His people's true protection and the indwelling glory they long for.

  1. The Man With the Measuring Line

A man measures Jerusalem, but the city will overflow its walls. Elohim's blessing cannot be contained.

  2. 1I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.
  3. 2Then I asked, “Where are you going?” He said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length.”
  4. 3Behold, the malak who talked with me went out, and another malak went out to meet him,
  5. 4and said to him, “Run, speak to this young man, saying, ‘Jerusalem will be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it.
  6. 5For I,’ says YHWH, ‘will be to her a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory in the middle of her.
  7. Flee From Babylon

Flee from Babylon! Elohim calls His people out of captivity and into freedom.

  8. 6Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,’ says YHWH; ‘for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the sky,’ says YHWH.
  9. 7‘Come, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.’
  10. 8For YHWH Tzeva'ot says: ‘For honour he has sent me to the nations which plundered you; for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.
  11. 9For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they will be a plunder to those who served them; and you will know that YHWH Tzeva'ot has sent me.
  12. Adonai Will Dwell in Zion

Adonai will dwell in the midst of Zion, and many nations will join Him. Gentile inclusion is Elohim's plan.

  13. 10Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion! For behold, I come and I will dwell within you,’ says YHWH.
  14. 11Many nations shall join themselves to YHWH in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell amongst you, and you shall know that YHWH Tzeva'ot has sent me to you.
  15. 12YHWH will inherit Judah as his portion in the kodesh land, and will again choose Jerusalem.
  16. 13Be silent, all flesh, before YHWH; for he has roused himself from his kodesh habitation!”
