Chapter 3

Filthy Garments Removed, Clean Robes Given

Joshua the high priest in filthy garments, the adversary accusing, Elohim silencing the accuser and clothing Joshua in clean robes — the justification Yeshua grants to every accused believer.

  1. The High Priest Cleansed

Joshua the high priest stands accused by Satan, but Elohim rebukes the accuser and clothes Joshua in clean garments.

  2. 1He showed me Joshua the high priest standing before YHWH’s malak, and Satan standing at his right hand to be his adversary.
  3. 2YHWH said to Satan, “YHWH rebuke you, Satan! Yes, YHWH who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Isn’t this a burning stick plucked out of the fire?”
  4. 3Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the malak.
  5. 4He answered and spoke to those who stood before him, saying, “Take the filthy garments off him.” To him he said, “Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with rich clothing.”
  6. 5I said, “Let them set a clean turban on his head.” So they set a clean turban on his head, and clothed him; and YHWH’s malak was standing by.
  7. 6YHWH’s malak solemnly assured Joshua, saying,
  8. 7“YHWH Tzeva'ot says: ‘If you will walk in my ways, and if you will follow my instructions, then you also shall judge my house, and shall also keep my courts, and I will give you a place of access amongst these who stand by.
  9. The Branch — Mashiach the Servant

Behold, My servant the Branch. The Mashiach is a servant who grows from humble roots into greatness.

  10. 8Hear now, Joshua the high priest, you and your fellows who sit before you, for they are men who are a sign; for, behold, I will bring out my servant, the Branch.Fulfilled · Hitgalut 22:16
  11. 9For, behold, the stone that I have set before Joshua: on one stone are seven eyes; behold, I will engrave its inscription,’ says YHWH Tzeva'ot, ‘and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
  12. 10In that day,’ says YHWH Tzeva'ot, ‘you will invite every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.’”
