Chapter 135

Praise Adonai Who Chose Israel for Himself

The declaration that Adonai's name endures forever and His renown through all generations points to Yeshua, whose name is above every name in every age.

  1. Praise Adonai, His Name Is Great

    Praise Adonai because He has chosen Israel. He does whatever pleases Him in heaven and on earth.

  2. 1Praise YHWH! Praise YHWH’s name! Praise him, you servants of YHWH,
  3. 2you who stand in YHWH’s house, in the courts of our Elohim’s house.
  4. 3Praise YHWH, for YHWH is good. Sing praises to his name, for that is pleasant.
  5. 4For YHWH has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel for his own possession.
  6. 5For I know that YHWH is great, that our Adonai is above all gods.
  7. 6Whatever YHWH pleased, that he has done, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.
  8. 7He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings with the rain. He brings the wind out of his treasuries.
  9. 8He struck the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and animal.
  10. 9He sent signs and wonders into the middle of you, Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his servants.
  11. 10He struck many nations, and killed mighty kings—
  12. 11Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan—
  13. 12and gave their land for a heritage, a heritage to Israel, his people.
  14. 13Your name, YHWH, endures forever; your renown, YHWH, throughout all generations.
  15. 14For YHWH will judge his people and have compassion on his servants.
  16. Idols Are Worthless, Trust Adonai

    Idols have mouths but cannot speak, eyes but cannot see. Those who trust them become like them.

  17. 15The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
  18. 16They have mouths, but they can’t speak. They have eyes, but they can’t see.
  19. 17They have ears, but they can’t hear, neither is there any breath in their mouths.
  20. 18Those who make them will be like them, yes, everyone who trusts in them.
  21. 19House of Israel, praise YHWH! House of Aaron, praise YHWH!
  22. 20House of Levi, praise YHWH! You who fear YHWH, praise YHWH!
  23. 21Blessed be YHWH from Zion, who dwells in Jerusalem. Praise YHWH!
