Chapter 3

Yeshua Rises — My Shield and My Glory

David's trust in Elohim as his shield and lifter of his head foreshadows Yeshua's resurrection morning: the Father lifting His rejected, crucified Son in triumph.

  1. A Morning Prayer for Deliverance

David cries out while fleeing Absalom. Even when surrounded, Adonai is a shield around His children.

  2. 1YHWH, how my adversaries have increased! Many are those who rise up against me.
  3. 2Many there are who say of my soul, “There is no help for him in Elohim.” Selah.
  4. 3But you, YHWH, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.
  5. 4I cry to YHWH with my voice, and he answers me out of his kodesh hill. Selah.
  6. 5I laid myself down and slept. I awakened, for YHWH sustains me.
  7. 6I will not be afraid of tens of thousands of people who have set themselves against me on every side.
  8. 7Arise, YHWH! Save me, my Elohim! For you have struck all of my enemies on the cheek bone. You have broken the teeth of the wicked.
  9. 8Salvation belongs to YHWH. May your blessing be on your people. Selah.
