Chapter 2

The Mashiach King Reigns Over All Nations

This royal psalm directly prophesies Yeshua as Elohim's anointed Son, installed as King on Zion, to whom all nations are given as His inheritance.

  1. Adonai's Anointed King — Mashiach Enthroned

The nations rage against Adonai and His Anointed, but Elohim laughs from heaven. Yeshua is the enthroned King.

  2. 1Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?
  3. 2The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against YHWH, and against his Mashiach, saying,
  4. 3“Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”
  5. 4He who sits in the heavens will laugh. Adonai will have them in derision.
  6. 5Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:
  7. 6“Yet I have set my King on my kodesh hill of Zion.”
  8. You Are My Son

The Father declares to the Son: 'You are My Son.' This coronation psalm points directly to Yeshua's authority.

  9. 7I will tell of the decree: YHWH said to me, “You are my son. Today I have become your father.Fulfilled · Ivrim 1:5
  10. 8Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.Fulfilled · Hitgalut 2:27
  11. 9You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
  12. 10Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
  13. 11Serve YHWH with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
  14. 12Give sincere homage to the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish on the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.
