Chapter 20

Adonai Saves His Anointed King

The prayer for the king's victory and trust in Elohim's name rather than chariots is fulfilled in Yeshua, who triumphed through surrender rather than worldly force.

  1. A Prayer for the King's Victory

A prayer for the king going into battle. This prayer still rises today: may the Name of Elohim protect you.

  2. 1May YHWH answer you in the day of trouble. May the name of the Elohim of Jacob set you up on high,
  3. 2send you help from the sanctuary, grant you support from Zion,
  4. 3remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah.
  5. 4May he grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfil all your counsel.
  6. 5We will triumph in your salvation. In the name of our Elohim, we will set up our banners. May YHWH grant all your requests.
  7. 6Now I know that YHWH saves his anointed. He will answer him from his kodesh heaven, with the saving strength of his right hand.
  8. 7Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of YHWH our Elohim.
  9. 8They are bowed down and fallen, but we rise up, and stand upright.
  10. 9Save, YHWH! Let the King answer us when we call!
